There are no ongoing subscription charges. It can be used either as a stand-alone GPS detector or as the central warning device for mobile speed trap alerts from many different radar detectors and laser systems. General Info

The Cheetah Sentinel is a remote head system that communicates with the small in-car warning unit via a state of the art wireless radio link. The weatherproof sensor unit of the Cheetah Sentinel mounts externally, behind your radiator grille or under your bumper, and communicates wirelessly with the warning unit inside your car. The in-car warning unit gives both audible and visual alerts. This means the Cheetah Sentinel Alert unit can be placed out of sight in your glovebox, under your steering column, or above your sunvisor. YOU decide the ideal and most discreet location for your own car.

Helps you to become more aware of your speed

The GPS speedo accurately displays your current speed from behind the mirror glass. Advisory speed limits when you are approaching a camera let you easily compare your own speed to the posted speed limit at that location. There is also a useful Overspeed Reminder which reminds you whenever you drive faster than your chosen setting.

Visual alert

When a radar or laser signal is detected, the corresponding LEDs will flash.

Audio alert

The audio tone will quicken as you approach the radar source. The volume can be easily adjusted to the preferred level using the rotary volume control, and can also be completely muted if required. There are different tones to represent the different types of speed trap equipment that can target your vehicle.

City mode

Incorporates a clever automatic muting facility, called City Mute. When activated, the unit will give 1 second of audible warning for each signal detected and then become silent, but the warning LEDs will continue to function as normal.

Selectable bands

K band and Laser detection will always remain active. This would be the optimal setting for the UK, but there are a few mobile cameras that use Ku band technology. Ka+Ku band detection can be switched on and off together to optimise the detection capability of the Cheetah Sentinel for use in the UK.
